Info & Care
A juban is an under kimono usually worn beneath a silk kimono to protect it. This juban made with a muslin* blend, would make a lovely house robe.
The gown is unlined apart from at the shoulder area.
- Condition: Good with some staining due to age
- A belt is NOT included
- Fabric: Muslin (probably wool)* with synthetic collar
Care Instructions: Gentle hand washing recommended
*Japanese muslin, used for juban, is often made from fine wool or a wool blend - it feels very like cotton in texture.
An haneri is a collar that is sewn on to a juban to avoid getting the kimono collar dirty. The blue haneri collar on this gown has a silky feeling.
Shitsuke, a kind of basting or tacking used to keep garment seams neat during periods of storage, is present - simply remove when ready to use.
